Today we have been on the move! We started by rolling to the Belize Zoo where we got to see some members of God's creation we are not generally privileged to experience. Though I am not typically an animal lover, I really enjoyed getting to see the wildlife of Central America.
Next we rolled to our camp in Succotz thanks to our champ of a driver Dwight T. The man can maneuver a school bus like no one I have ever seen. Clearly Papa Yerx needs to take some lessons from Dwight after getting the van stuck on the way out of the zoo. As we drove through the towns between our camps I tried to take in all the brightly painted homes and businesses.
As we got off the bus and began to unpack, I think we all started to realize how much we are going to have to roll with the punches on this trip. Things are very different from what most of us are accustomed to and there are a lot of new things to experience. By God's grace we are all adjusting day by day. We are a group of 54 at the moment so there is plenty of personality to go around, which can add to the tension at times but I think we are all enjoying getting to know each other.
Thanks for reading and please say a prayer for us!
