Come Rain or Shine

1/16/12
Day 14
Today we got to sleep in till 8ish. I had a great night sleep due to the rain. We had breakfast then we headed to one of the local schools approximately 15mins from camp at 10am. At the school we got to play some games we the children along with teaching them about the Life Straw. While we were there it started raining... and raining... and raining some more. Scott even decided to take one for the team and entertain us all with some of his mud sliding skills which resulted in quite a few laughs. During the downpour I stopped and watched the rain and just took a moment to reflect on how amazing God is and thank him for the rain and for giving us the opportunity to show His love to these kids and all the kids that we've come into contact with up till this point, whether it's been raining or the sun shining.  After it stopped raining long enough for us to get on the bus we headed back to camp and had some lunch. After lunch we had a couple of hours of down time while Dr. Skon and some others went grocery shopping. We then had class around 4pm. For class today we debated on euthanasia and whether it is ethical in terminally ill patients or not. The debate went very well and both sides provided very thorough and well thought out views and ideas. Also, the at one point it started raining so hard that we couldn't even hear each other speak, but that only lasted a few minutes. After class it was time for dinner which unfortunately was not all that great tonight so I stuck with some snackage. Later, we headed over to Punta Gorda to explore a little bit and stock up on snacks. We then came back to camp, hung out awhile, and then called it a night. It was a pretty good day!
