Good times in PG!

Today we had class for a few hours and then I got to take a glorious nap for a couple of hours. Next we had the opportunity to go out to a seaside town called Punta Gorda, or "PG" for short! It was a good time of exploration and FINALLY getting to see the water that I've been longing to see since I signed up for this trip.

PG has lots of character for a small town. There were bright colored buildings everywhere and tons of different people hanging out in the streets. We heard kids playing drums up the street and some of our group got to go play around with them. We stopped for ice cream and I had the cheesecake flavor. It didn't really taste like cheesecake, more like a yellow cake in the US. But it was still really good! Then we headed down to the ocean to take pics, look at the beauty of the ocean, and some of our group decided to actually jump in it!

It was just a whole lot of fun and I was glad I went down to PG for part of the afternoon. The skies were gorgeous tonight and really made me think about my family back home and what the skies were doing back there. Only one more week left here in  Belize. I can't believe that this trip has gone by so fast! Time to live it up!
